John Figol is an associate lawyer at Ross ■ Rumbell. His practice focuses on business start-ups, mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, venture capital and commercial lending, as well general corporate and commercial law. John has developed an expertise in investigating and analyzing legal issues and providing timely and practical legal and business advice.

Prior to joining Ross ■ Rumbell, John worked in the legal department at ERCO Worldwide, A Division of Superior Plus LP, a multinational company in the specialty chemicals and energy services business. John’s previous experience also includes working on both the defense and prosecution side of criminal cases. He has advocated for clients in Provincial and Small Claims Court, and has also worked alongside Crown Attorney’s to prosecute cases.

John attended Osgoode Hall Law School, where he completed the highly competitive Business Law Intensive Program. Before attending law school, John obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto where he majored in finance and economics. He also studied International Management at the University of Hong Kong.

John is the Secretary of the Ukrainian Canadian Professional and Business Association of Toronto, a director of TSCC 1582, and a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Ukrainian Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada.

John is an avid traveler and sports enthusiast and has traveled extensively to more than 30 countries. He always enjoys a bad game of golf and a good cigar.
